So I was thinking, as the board is starting out and things will be turbulent as people figure things out...
It might be to everyone's advantage to start with a fairly structured plot. For example, some sort of villain attacks Redwall and Salamanastron sends help or something of the like. I'm talking a BIG attack, like something that could be found in one of the books. That way, everyone's not running willynilly around the place until they know what they're doing.
So, any thoughts?

That sounds great! And it fits in well with Pipkin's knowledge that he needs to find a successor before he gets too old and Frenner and Heartsease's wish to prove themselves. ^.^ I can definitely work with this.

I don't know if my characters would fit in very well seeing as both my foxes are escaping a tribe going after them for important reasons (well important for them). They seek refuge in Redwall Abbey so they would be running around willy-nilly anyways for a little while.
But otherwise, sounds great Noit!

Could work with Mikhail and Akira just because of the confusion it could engender. With an attack in the making, people would be ranging out to examine the situation and might come across your foxes that way. Also, their old band might add extra trouble to the situation. After all - in Redwall, it can always get worse and usually does. XD

I already have their beginning planned out so I don't know if anyone will come across them that way

That's fine. :3 Then who should the villain be? And what should be going on? Any ideas? I was thinking a more "exotic" villain, like a snake or something. Or a Marten or Wildcat. Although there are a shortage of "common" vermin baddies in the newest books.

Could be something tying into character backgrounds. For instance Belladonna, looking for revenge for her earlier defeat (I doubt she cares much about Grimfang's death XD)manages to get someone worked up over the FABULOUS TREASURE she swears is in the Abbey. Belladonna wouldn't be the leader, of course. Might also tie into Akira's characters somehow, though I know she has beginnings planned for her roaming foxes so we might save their band for later.
I'm also pretty sure the horde leader should be a stoat. I don't know why; it may just be because I like the word stoat. Stoatstoat.
Once a few more people pop in with characters, we might be able to get a broader idea of what we can work with on this attack. Are you planning to use your corsairs? They don't seem so bad, but anything that can add to the confusion might be fun. XD
....stoat.

XDDDD
We could use Belladonna, but I'd kinda like to keep it JUST oc's. Once real Redwall characters get involved, then we start having to worry more about timelines and such.
YUS. Stoats are very underloved! I was just reading about the Ghost bat, and I know it lives in Australia technically, but they could be part of the army. Maybe Stoatstaot found some as babies. XP I dunno, I just really want to stick giant, pale, carnivorous bats in there somehow.
That's what I was thinking. I could use my corsairs, but then we'll just see how many good vermin show up. Don't want an overload! Of course, Greylent has a twin brother who's also a Corsair, though slightly more powerful/vicious, so that could be a neat little plot later on.

I love the twin idea - talk about confusion! And hey, a beaver somehow showed up in the first book. No reason a Ghost bat can't. 83
And by Belladonna I meant Frenner's birth mother. XD Sorry if that was confusing.
No matter what he's eventually named this stoat is gonna be "Stoatstoat" in all OOC discussions, isn't he. |3 (Unless the speaker plays a mole, in which case he would obviously be Stoaterstoater.)

X3 It's like a Soap Opera. So, Greylent's gonna get his butt kicked by his brother. That's all I'm saying right now.
Ah! XD I got a bit confused there! And yeah, that'd be perfect!
It is. We shall name him Stoatstoat and he shall be ours. And he shall be our Stoatstoat. XP (That mole version made me laugh SO HARD.)
Should he be in charge of a hoard? Or just a tribe or band?

Well - a tribe can cause more subtle trouble ; the smaller numbers can creep through Mossflower for awhile before anyone realizes something big is up. So that can be good for starters. It's also possible that he HAS a horde but is clever about things: each of his captains has a small band, and they approach a target from different directions so that they can surround it without someone noticing a huge horde before it's too late.
Does that make sense?

Yes! So Stoatstoat is organized, and has a fairly large hoard, but manages to divide it up so they can escape detection for a while?

Exactly! He is our clever and sneaksy Stoatstoat.

I think it may be in Noit's interest if the exotic villain was a fish. Ohmai.

I think it may be in Noit's interest if the exotic villain was a fish. Ohmai. How about a narwhal? 83 Noita - crows aren't on the list. May I make one? If we go with Stoatstoat's split horde he can act as a messenger/coordinator within the branches; even if we don't he'll still be a useful bandmember/spy I think. 83
